  • For the recital, dancers should wear their hair in a neat, low bun with a middle part whenever possible. All classes are required to wear a bun EXCEPT the Tuesday 5pm and Wednesday 9:30am classes. All other dancers’ hair should be slicked back smoothly using gel and a comb or slick-back brush, with no loose hairs. Please ensure the bun is clean and secure — a bun donut is helpful, and a hair net with bobby pins is required to keep everything in place. This freeze spray is very helpful as well. For our younger dancers who may not yet have enough hair for a middle part, a simple low bun without the part is perfectly fine. If your child’s hair is too short for any bun at all, please email Ms. Hilary for instructions. Thank you for helping our dancers look their best on stage!

  • Makeup is encouraged, but not required. If you choose to have your dancer wear makeup, please follow these guidelines. For our youngest dancers (ages 2–3), minimal makeup is preferred — just a wine-red lipstick and a dark pink blush are perfect. For dancers ages 4 and up, we recommend foundation or powder to match their skin tone, pink blush, neutral eye shadow shades such as browns or tans, black eyeliner, black mascara, and lipstick. These guidelines help ensure that facial features are visible under stage lighting while still keeping the look age-appropriate. Thank you for your help in creating a polished and confident stage appearance!
